Johnny Phillips was formerly an odds compiler and trader for some of the UK’s biggest bookmakers, and then for eight years was a full-time professional gambler. More recently he has worked for betting syndicates as a quantitative analyst (‘quant’) doing analytics and building models that help them to win money in sports betting markets. He also advises football clubs on how to use analytics to get an edge with recruitment, strategy and financial planning. He is currently working on his first book, The Lizard and the Bee, which is about the enormous Asian Handicap market in football betting.
