Emma John

Wisden Book of the Year Winner

Emma’s first book – Following On: A Memoir of Teenage Obsession and Terrible Cricket – was justifiably compared to Fever Pitch and loved by the likes of Miles Jupp, Simon Barnes and Clare Balding.

Emma was a writer on the Guardian and the Observer. She is a former deputy editor of Observer Sport Monthly and in 2008 she was the first woman to win a Sports Journalism Award. She lives in north London and has been on the MCC waiting list for almost 20 years. Not that she’s counting.

She is currently working on a new book about another passion – bluegrass music.
