Gerard McDade

Gerard McDade is a freelance writer, broadcaster, presenter and football commentator. He has worked for Celtic FC, BBC Scotland, TALK107 and Bauer Media/Radio Forth and other media outlets. In addition, he has contributed to newspapers, magazine and websites. As an author he wrote Celtic – The Supersonic ‘70s (Black & White Publishing, 2009) and co-wrote the Irish Book Award nomination The Last Line – My Autobiography (Ebury Press, 2015) with former Celtic and Republic of Ireland goalkeeper, Packie Bonner. He also written for theatre with ‘The Prince – The Johnny Thomson Story’ as well as being commissioned to write a cinema screenplay. His field of interests are sport, music, and entertainment.

An accomplished public speaker he has spoken at many dinners and is in demand as a compere for all sorts of public events including charity nights, Evenings with…and book launches. His love of music currently sees him singing with two bands, ‘Creek Crosby and The Crewcuts’ as well as tribute group ‘Into The Shadows’. Just like Elvis, he never reads reviews but unlike Elvis he has made it past 42…substantially!
