Simon Spence

Simon Spence collaborated with Rolling Stones manager and producer Andrew Loog Oldham on Stoned and 2Stoned (Vintage, 2001 and 2003) and is the author of eight non-fiction books on subjects such as Immediate Records (Black Dog, 2008), Happy Mondays (Aurum, 2014), The Stone Roses (Penguin, 2012) and Steve Marriott (Omnibus, 2021). He has written widely on popular culture for NME, Dazed & Confused, The Face, i-D, The Independent, Q and Mojo. His latest book is A Likely Lad, Peter Doherty’s memoir (Constable, 2022). He lives in Manchester.
